1. From the 1st January 2010, the owner/ presenter of
the vehicle will be required to produce a form of
identification (Driving Licence or Passport only) when
presenting the vehicle for inspection at the Test Centre.
2. Applus+ was recently awarded
the 10 year contract to manage the car testing service in Ireland, this contract
also sees the construction and operation of an additional two centres which will
see the current network increase to a total of 46 Inspection centres. Applus+ will
provide a state of the art technical solution to support the annual inspection of
over 1.4 million vehicles.
3. It couldn’t be easier to go for your NCT, from the 4th January, you can now book
and pay for your NCT on line (please remember to bring a print out of your confirmed
booking with you to the test centre on the day of the test).
4. From the 4th January, a further two centres have been added to the NCT network.

5. The SPSV vehicle licensing service will cease to operate from NCT Centres from
23rd December 2009. From 4th January 2010 this service will now transfer to a new
network of 37 regional centres operated by SGS Ireland on behalf of the Commission.

6. Did you know that from the 1st May 2009, driving a car without a valid NCT may
attract up to five penalty points in addition to any fine imposed upon conviction
in Court, for more information regarding the NCT and penalty points please refer
